Dear Member of the South Central District,
God has blessed our 2009 summer youth camps with 121 campers who daily
studied God’s Word, enjoyed friendships, did service activities and had lots
of fun. That is a good increase over last year’s number of campers. As one
camper wrote back,
“Camp Shiloh is amazing. It is so much fun kayaking, swimming,
and nature trails. I don't know what we would do without Camp Shiloh! I
can't wait till next year!!!!”
God has also sent many groups and families who have been experiencing
Camp Shiloh for a variety of gatherings. As a recent guest commented,
“Everything was just perfect! I have been here a number of times
and things are looking so much better and I appreciate all the
improvements.”
For Camp Shiloh to continue to improve and meet the needs of current
and potential guests, work needs to continue. You can be a part of this
improvement process. Over the next months we would like to do a number of
projects. Those projects include:
Repairing the road breaks and holes
Building a dock for boaters and for use during camps
Building an enclosure to protect our tractor
Erosion control
AND MORE …
But we need to rely on God’s moving in the hearts of His people to
bring forth thank offerings to allow us to make these improvements. As God
moves in your heart to respond to Jesus’ love for you, please consider a
special gift to help us do the improvements that are needed to further this
special ministry.
In Christ,
Pastor Wayne Fischer
Director, Camp Shiloh Lutheran Retreat
